Chetpet Development Initiative
The concept this project originated from consideration of the commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ himself.This development initiative aims to demonstrate the life of Chirst himself.This development initiative aims to demonstrate the life of Chirst and bring light into the lives of children,women and families through various training and development activities in our own neighbourhoot of Chetpet.
Chetpet,being our immediate neighbourhood has 97,000 families living there and it is our desire to see a change here and that the community is build up as a model community in India for the glory od God.
We have conducted extensive surveys with the help of students from madras christian college and have identified four areas in the neighbourhood where people are living below the poverty line.
we have five goals that we plan to engage in being:-
1.Development of the youth in the community.
2.Empowerment of women through skill training and employment opportunities.
3.Child development programs for school going children.
4.Counselling and development of adults to save them from social deprivation and addictions.
5.Healthcare for the families.
The duration of this initiative is projected to be 10 years with three phases of three years each.we have measurable indicators to evaluate the progress and development of the community and their families.
