Four extremely talented young men run this section. The artists are from disadvantaged backgrounds and with the requisite training they now have an avenue to showcase their creativity. They make design and create greeting cards and posters.
Art Section
Screen Printing Unit
This unit was begun in the early 1970s in the CMCT building in Chennai. It has provided work for many teenage boys and men. The unit not only trains but also employs.
The unit prints the stationery items required for several projects of CMCT as well as for other companies. It prints letterheads, visiting cards, receipt books and wedding invitations and posters.
Textile printing
The textile printing unit is a vibrant and exciting place. In this section, T-shirts are designed and printed. Emblems and motifs for school uniforms are also done here. Another area of work is drawing outlines on material for the Handicrafts section to work on.
Visual Graphics
Depending on the project this department creates the concept and the sketches when creating the design. They take care of all the design needs of CMCT and also work on orders from outside the organisation.
CMCT expanded my horizons. I have been able to increase my skills through training programs for which I was sent. I began my career as a teacher, but CMCT gave me the opportunity to be a designer, a leader, and a mentor to women from difficult backgrounds.

CMCT has given us so many opportunities. It has always been ‘home,’ not just a hostel. I think every sponsor with CMCT should know that thanks to their support, children are getting a chance to realize their fullest potential.
