This project caters to the needs and development of the people infected with leprosy and their families. They live in three colonies of Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu – Bethel Nagar, Calvary Nagar and Indira Nagar. As they are unable to go to work because of the infection, food rations to last them a month are provided. The number of families that benefit under this scheme is 95.

A tailoring unit has been set up in one of the colonies to empower the women. Twenty-five ladies are a part of this development programme. The women stitch dhotis for reputed brands, uniforms for Government schools, dresses for local textile brands and more, helping them earn a living.

Land close to the villages was purchased and a multi-purpose hall cum medical centre was built. This helps reach the surrounding 10 leprosy colonies. Self-help groups have been started, and handicraft training is given too.
