This project works for the optimum development of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical (motor), language, communication, and cooperative learning potential in children. The main idea of the Child Development Project is to support and empower children from less privileged communities through education and skill development.
Currently, there are four centres located in the crowded informal settlements of Chennai – Chetpet, Teynampet, Kannigapuram, and Ezhil Nagar. Most of these children live in a house provided by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board where the area of the house does not exceed 350 square feet. Another project functions at Vengampalipuram village in Chittoor. We also started a project in Gundupatti, a remote village in Kodaikanal. A total of 240 beneficiaries have access to organised health care, educational assistance, and systematic development of social, cognitive, skill and emotional need.
